Concealing a gun in a fitted suit

I had mine fitted by the tailor for carry. I wore the pistol into the shop and he did his thing with me wearing it. He even reinforced the pants and the jacket where the pistol went.

I wore it during my friends wedding, a G27 in a Milt Sparks VM2. Didn't show, and I doubt it printed, usually when I'm concerned about it it is in my head. Come to think of it, in the pictures you can't tell.

Bottom line, if you are getting it fitted, wear your rig in and have them fit around it.

If they have a problem with you doing that, you need to spend your cash elsewhere.

My 5.11 concealment undershirts don't itch (after washing about half a dozen times) and I carry my XDM3.8 comfortably under nearly everything I wear. I also had a local seamstress sew the buttons of my shirt on the outside and put tiny little snaps in the shirt front to allow one handed draw and presentation even when wearing a tie. I'm not a big guy, but I've never been "printed" with that rig.

While being fitted in a Men's Warehouse, I thrust my right hand into my waistband. The gal taking the measurements didn't miss a beat, "You carry a gun," she said.

I carry in a tailored suit all the time. Breast pocket carry of a DS in a Desantis does not print or show. Front pocket carry likewise. S&W 442 also works great this way. For carrying a gov't model 1911 (instead or in addition), IWB is easily concealed with a vest. If your suit is binding you at all or your weapons are printing, your suit is not fitted correctly. A properly-fitted suit moves well and is quite comfortable. Off the rack works almost all the time. A good tailor is a great thing, too. I have had extra pockets made for some of my jackets. Shoulder holster works wonders too, as long as you are not going to be removing the jacket. The old-school technique of just sticking your weapon (j-frame or 1911) in your belt works surprisingly well for short hops (like from the front door to the car), but a proper holster is strongly recommended.

Hmmm...Methinks she could just as easily have thought you were doing your impression of Al Bundy (from "Married With Children").
