Concrete mixer for brass tumbling

You need enough water to dampen the tumbling. The brass should not be cleaned by pounding it against the drum or other brass, but only by chemical action and the mechanical action of the media (pins or chips). There is no need for blades or paddles.

I don't have precise stainless-steel media:brass ratios worked out, but if you were to use a 1:1 ratio by weight, that should work. A higher media:brass ratio is safer.

Interesting. My wife was on her HS rifle team in PA. She’s an excellent shot. I think it’s patience.
I'm not sure what it is, but my daughter at the age of 14 beat out both my son and I at a 200 yard prone 22 LR 60 shot match. Out of 40 shooters, she came in 3rd, only behind the two above mentioned shooter. My son (at 12) came in 14th. I don't recall where I finished, I was just so proud of both of them, I didn't really care. Feedback from the firing line (I was in the target pits, pulling their targets-no I DID NOT cheat their scores) was that they conducted themselves in a safe and matter of fact manner. Their coach (and mine) taught them well. Natural point of aim, breath control, trigger squeeze. They both even knew how to keep score! I still beam at the memory.

Her daughter has taken up the sport at the ripe age of 11. Grandpa brought her a bunch of ammo for her 11th birthday. My wife asked if that was really appropriate. The look on the child's face was priceless. I put the cost of the range fees in her birthday card. PRICELESS!!!

To prevent the brass from banging against the blades in the drum, I wrapped them with cardboard. This prevents the brass from damage. Just fill the drum with media so that it is close to spilling out and then add the brass. You can play around with the brass/media ratio. I leave mine in for 2 hrs. I use this for media:

Zilla Desert Blend Ground English Walnut Shells (from Amazon)

A metal drum cement mixer isn't great. The plastic drum ones are amazing. We use them to polish our bullets. Kushlan is the brand we use. I haven't tried the other brands.
