This is bad news, indeed. Our GLOCKS are NEVER going to increase in value!

glad to hear it. the gen 3 is fine as is imho.

Blackhawk30, the rtf frame was on gen 3. gen 4 does feature a different texture but im not sure what they call it, and it is nowhere near as textured as the rtf found on the gen 3.

Very Glad to hear it! I saw a Gen4 that was an incredible jammomatic. I was so shocked that I bought a Gen3 Glock just incase they ceased production.

Good. I've read of issues with the gen 4. The gen 3's work great. Don't fix what ain't broke.

I have a hard time believing this, as Glock is pushing Gen4's to Law Enforcement agencies very aggressively. Their selling point is obviously the grip sizes for different sized officers.

I have a Flawless Gen4 G17, but prefer the Gen3 and Gen3RTF2 for fit and feel. If they put the new spring in the Gen3 frame, that would be the end all gun for me.

Blackhawk30: I'm confused.Is the RTF frame a Gen 4 or 3?

Actually all are RTF, just different versions.

Gen3 = RTF (Regular Glock)
Gen3 = RTF2 (Pyramid agressive grip with crescent/straight serrations)
Gen4 = RTF3 (Squared off aggressive grip and Adjustable Backstraps)

RTF3 (Left) - RTF2 (Right)

Anyone who is a cop and has to wear the glock on his hip, does not want the aggressive grip. My forearm goes across my grip thousands of times a day. If Im wearing a uniformed shirt, it will get really fuzzy around my right forearm. If Im wearing short sleaved, I will have a permant rash. The slide looks great but the grip sucks, if you need sand paper to keep the pistol in your hand, you dont need a gun, you need a lifejacket.

Sadly, the bean counters, and executive staff usually make the decision. Not the road units. Two agencies in my area just went with Gen4's.

After owning all three finishes, I prefer holding the RTF2, but prefer carrying the original, due to the smoother design.

Regardless of what the sales numbers are, I would have expected this, at least in some kind of limited runs because the Gen 4's most likely will not be sold in California to civilians.

Good news, I'm not at all excited about Gen 4. Still do want to pick up a couple of Glocks at some point, now I don't have to feel like I need to rush.

I'm all for this...I personally don't like the new style on the Gen4. I will definitely look for a Gen3 style for my next Glock purchase

I'm still hoping for cheap, lightly-used police trade-in Gen3 Glocks to flood the civilian market as LEOs trade in for Gen4. The Gen3 fits my hand just fine--may have something to do with the fact it was the platform I learned to shoot with.

Gen 4

If not for Gen 4 glock 17, I will still remain in my 1911 world and maybe sucked up to M&P. Not all hands fit in Gen 3. Aggressive grip?? Look at IDPA. IPSC, Military grips. That 4th gen grip is not grippy enough. And jamholic, why is it that my Gen 4 is so reliable?

Any news on Glock 34 gen 4??
