Confusion reloading 12 ga 3" federal hulls

Brand new to reloading shotshells as I just got the lyman 5th edition handbook. Looking into what spent hulls I have in the book to match up load data to gather components. I'm looking to mimmik what I shot for geese which is federal speed shok waterfowl load 3" 1 1/8oz. bb steel shot. Looking at these hulls i see it has a paper wad which the handbook has a load for. My buddy has been shooting speed shock #2's 3" 1 1/4 that have a white plastic base. I don't see load data for that hull in the handbook for federal. There is for remington and Winchester. Should I use one of those loads for the plastic federal hulls? Also though they had #2 in them can I reload them with bb? Feeling lost being a newbie

I wouldn't mix load data for different makes/brands of hulls. What they were originally loaded with shouldn't really matter as long as they were shot shells.

Paying attention to the hulls construction is wise. I'd wait on loading the 1's with the plastic base wad until you find data for that brand of hull.
