Connecticut Assault Weapons Law Question

Not sure if anyone knows this for sure, but figured this is the best place to ask.

Well, I live in the state of Connecticut, which has its own AWB. Now, to qualify a gun has to have certain characteristics, first off it has to accept a detachable mag, then have 2 of any other features. Thats where my question comes in. I've heard from some people that a 'quick detach bipod' qualifies towards one of the characteristics, IE any bipod not attached by hardware to the gun. However the website I get laws off of doesn't have it listed (Source: http://www.cga.ct.gov/2005/pub/Chap943.htm#Sec53-202a.htm) Now, considering that people that told me it's ILlegal work in gun shops, I'm taking their word for it for now, however I just want to check to see if anyone else knows if maybe the page I'm looking at is outdated and theres a better one? I've tried searching the site, but I cant even find the actual law I found by googleing it through the sites search.

As far as I know, the bipod is legal. The CT AWB specifically lists banned firearms by name and then goes on to list the "at least two" items. A bipod is not on that list.

I think I need to stay away from that shop then...thought it was strange sounding for it to be especially since they said only 'quick detach' ones..

Thanks for the links. I am looking at a job in CT and have a Saiga 7.62x39, unaltered, except for a skeleton stock. 10-round magazines. Reading through the wonderful legalese, I look to be okay with it. Any arguments from those in the land of Lieberman?

CT is not that bad given the neighborhood (NY, NJ, & MA). Carry permits are pretty easy to obtain and last for 5 years. Little restriction on carry only schools, courthouses and federal buildings. Lots of hunting around where I'm located (SE CT). Good active gun clubs and hunting clubs. No limits on mag capacity and that pesky AWB can be easily delt with in most cases. While it's not NH, VT or ME it is really not a bad spot to be a gun owner.

Advice gathered in gunshops is best taken with a grain of salt. If the official Connecticut Gov't website doesn't list it as a banned feature, then it's not a banned feature.

Thing is this advice was preventing a purchase and was from workers there, ussually I would think they would try to get me to buy something if it's legal, not try to stop me. :banghead: ah well, soon as I pay off my next rifle, I'm going to pick up a couple decent bipods.
