i am contemplating picking up a Vector HK33 clone (with fake suppressor) in gun-friendly PA.

i think it's a (federal) post-ban gun. not sure.

it has a pistol grip, accepts hi-cap mags, and has a flash hider. but no evil bayonet lug.

q: am I legaly allowed to bring this into Connecticut if I simply remove the offending flash hider before crossing state lines? (I think CT AWB part deux applies here).

Thanks!

Well unfortunately, a flash hider, or threaded barrel with the addition of those features is still considered a AW that goes and kills babys on its own according to CT:cool: . If you want to follow the law the only way I believe you could have it is if u put a permanent muzzle break on it instead, stupid huh?. You can bring it in CT for 30 days, after that if its still here ur screwed, or if your traveling thru to ur residence in another state but cant bring it permanenently here in AW config.
I had the same issue with my cetme, jus keep it safe although tempting its not worth a felony either u knw. well atleast the hi cap mags arnt a problem hah, pz brother

CT bans certain evil weapons by name, and for others they allow only two "evil" features such as pistol grip, detachable magazine, bayonet lug, flash hider. Most post-ban assault rifles will not be legal in CT. I don't know if simply unscrewing the flash hider from your rifle will be legal, or if you would have to actually remove the threads so it cannot be [easily] reattached.

Found it ... no threads allowed.

C.G.S. 53-202a (a)(3)(A) A semiautomatic rifle that has an ability to accept a detachable magazine and has at least two of the following:
(i) A folding or telescoping stock;
(ii) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon;
(iii) A bayonet mount;
(iv) A flash suppressor or threaded barrel designed to accept a flash suppressor; and
(v) A grenade launcher

You would have to either remove the threads, or permanently attach a compensator in place of the flash hider.
