After seeing the many posts in answer to my question between a conversion kit or upper I decided on a upper. Found Velocity Firearms has two different kits as follows
As noted in my first post I am a newbe without much knowledge so I ask the pros, I have a Bushmaster XM15. Below are the companies decriptions.
1-Velocity Firearms model AR22-100. Complete upper for AR-15 in 22 long rifle. The AR22-100 has a Carbon Fiber Upper Receiver completely interchangeable with a standard flat top upper receiver. These are dedicated .22 long rifle caliber with a chrome moly, 1-16” twist, 16” long barrel , and feature a Military type .22 long rifle bolt assembly (very accurate). Include with this upper is a 27rnd BLACK DOG MAG!!! For those in states that will not except high capacity mags I do have 10rnd black dog mags. These uppers will fit any mil-spec lower receiver.

This model also has a threaded barrel and has an A2 style flash hider with M4 hand guards. Include with this upper is a 27rnd BLACK DOG MAG!!!. For those in states that will not except high capacity mags I do have 10rnd black dog mags. These uppers will fit any mil-spec lower receiver.
There is a 65 dollar difference between 1 and 2. What do you guys and gals think which would be the best for just accurate plinking. Sorry if this seems like a very dumb post but I need to learn.
