THIS WEEK’S LESSON IS:

Lesson Eleven

The U.S. Supreme Court -- Guardian of the Constitution

Introduction: Under the Articles of Confederation the Founders hoped all disputes could be solved in the State Courts. Therefore, no Federal System of courts was provided. It soon became apparent, however, that a higher court system was necessary to handle:

1. The ambassadors and foreign ministers who deeply resented being hauled into STATE courts to handle problems of national importance.

2. The disputes between two different States because neither State wanted the dispute arbitrated or handled by the courts of the other State.

3. And what about the interpretation of the laws passed by Congress? If each State did its own interpreting, there would be total confusion.

4. What about cases involving the United States government? Certainly it was not right to have the courts of one State ruling on matters involving the interests of all the other States.

5. Then there were problems outside of the States such as admiralty cases, crimes on the high seas and suits between parties living in territories not yet made into States.

THIS WEEKS HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT:

Forward this e-mail to your friends, families, co-workers, and neighbors who may be interested in learning all about our Constitution.

THIS "CONSTITUTION 101" COURSE WOULD BE ESPECIALLY EDUCATIONAL FOR CHILDREN OF ALL AGES, AS WELL AS ADULTS.

There have been many tributes to the Constitution, but the highest tribute of all, is the willingness of a person to take the time to study it.

The Constitution is an exciting charter for human freedom, which establishes nearly 300 vested rights, as they apply to various segments of the America Society. Many people do not know the nature of these rights, nor how to protect them. This is why many of these rights have been eroded, or lost.

"CONSTITUTION 101" was especially designed for those who realize there is something seriously wrong in America today, but feel they are too busy to find out what can be done about it.

If the Founding Fathers were here today, they would undoubtedly assure us that we could do something about it. They would probably say it requires three (3) things:

1. A fairly comprehensive understanding of the Founders' original success formula based on a Free-Market economy and a constitutional form of government. Also,

2. A good understanding of what has been happening to the Founders' success formula since 1900. An finally,

3. A sincere desire to restore the Free-Market economy and constitutional government in the tradition of the Founding Fathers.

If you are this kind of person, we think you will enjoy the "Constitution 101" program, because it was designed especially for you.
