Somethign I never thought I would see is in the Taurus revolver manual and hits a point I have always never understood.

Warning: Securing your firearm may inhibit access to it in a defense situation and result in injury or death.

Warning: To prevent injury or death, it is imperative that you must keep your gun unloaded, uncocked, and securely locked, with ammunition in a seperate location. In addition, take any other reasonable steps to limit the possibility of theft, accident, or suicide.

The first warning just follows good common sense and good gun handling if you want to protect yourself: keep it loaded and ready for use.
While the second one just completely baffles me as to why they would include the second warning. To me it feels like they play into both the anti gun theory of keeping it unusable, and into "guns make you shoot people/kill yourself"

CYA

Cover Your A**. They've warned you of what can happen if the gun is unloaded and locked up. They've warned you of what can happen if the gun isn't unloaded, locked up, etc. They've warned you of both edges of the sword and left it at your discretion to choose how to proceed. They've covered their butts, so cover yours as you see fit.

But just having the guts for a gun company to admit that lockign a gun up can get you killed when you need it is rather brave and unusual these days. Im used to reading how its soooooo crucial to have a gun broke down into seperate parts when your not on the range or out hunting with it. And I just say kudos to taurus on that part anyway.

Any other company say locking a gun up can get you killed?
