Just got the cylinder in today from "Midway" Dropped right in. Action like butter. The Goex factory 45 Colt Black Powder load fits just fine. Makes for
a real compact pistol. The 45 Colt cylinder is a 5 shot. Ready to rock & roll.

That's the nice thing about steel frames. The navy sheriff I just ordered today is a brasser. I'd get a conversion for the ROA, but I have a 4 5/8" stainless Blackhawk that's lighter and smaller. :D Sooner or later I'll get a Remington steel frame and when I do, I'll be REAL tempted to get a conversion for it. :D

51 - 44

I like it.
How many grains of powder?
How many shot is it?

One could load the gun with one's favorite recipe, remove the ram rod and plunger, and have a nifty pocket carry gun.

Well the factory Goex is a 235 gr bullet with 37 grs of Black Powder. I hear
they no longer make them. Buffalo Arms is now loading them with Swiss powder. Thought about removing the loading lever, but I like the looks of it.
I might carry this as my conceled carry for a while. I'm really getting to like
the looks of it. I ground down the wedge a little. Now you don't have to hammer it out. Just push. It has a very high luster on the finish the camera
just didn't get. Think I'll take the lever off and snap a picture to see what
it looks like. Oh it's a five shot cylinder. I don't know if R&D is in business or not. The cylinder came in a box marked Howell.

:D What I love about BP guys, most of 'em don't have pre-conceived notions that you're not adequately armed unless you're carrying a semi auto with a 17 round capacity. The Navy is a little big for ME to carry. Maybe if I get a barrel and trim it to 3" could carry it IWB or even OWB. Probably wouldn't fit my K frame belt slide, but I could find something it'd fit.

I can't get BP locally, either have to order bulk or load pyrodex. I don't think 777 would work well in cartridges, but I don't really know. I'd probably stick something like 7-7.5 grains unique behind my 255 grain Lee cast bullet and call it good. I shoot 8.3 grains Unique in my Blackhawk, but that might be a little stiff for an open top frame, I'm thinkin'.

While I have plenty of modern pistols that would fit the bill. I'm not going to lie say that I WON'T sometimes pack my up coming 1858 in a shoulder holster out in the woods...or maybe to the store under my jacket:evil:
