No. Lever actions are notoriously fickle about cartridge length and even a 454 Casull is a good deal shorter than a 410. Besides now that Marlin is closing the Conn. factory a 410 Marlin 336 shotgun is a sure-fire collector's item and in a few years you'd regret having modified one.
natman, I don't have any interest in collecting firearms for others so if I had a Marlin 410 XLR and the conversion was possible, I wouldn't give it a second thought. However, you've made the point that the conversion wouldn't work too well. That's a pity since I'd like a Marlin in .454 Casull to accompany my SRH "Alaskan". I've seen a NIB 410 XLR for sale so was curious if the conversion would be realistic.
