Converting my 10/22 to a Krinker Plinker. Looking for optic suggestions

I'm in the process of converting my Ruger 10/22 with a Krinker Plinker kit that I picked up at a good price. It's one of the original runs with a converted folding stock. I'm looking forward to hitting the range with it and see how it shoots.

Now that I'm putting it together, it's just screaming for some type of optic for it. I'm thinking an inexpensive red dot system would work well.

Actually I'm looking for some suggestions on what you think would work good for this type of set up. Red dot, something else?

Also, what brand would you recommend. I don't want to overkill it with an Aimpoint or Eotech, but I also don't want to get a no name knock off that I might as well use as a paper weight.

Why not use a Kobra mil-spec Russian red dot sight? They run a little under $200 and are very high quality and durable.
