Reach on out there and buy the Cooper.
I had the same dilemma about 2 years ago. Against the advice of some friends, I went with the Cooper and have never regretted it. When compared side by side to a Kimber, it's head and shoulders above. (Plus, I wanted the left hand bolt.)
Mine is a .308 MTV, and with proper loads it will shoot circles around anything else out there short of a full blown target gun.
The only frustrating thing is that at the range, most folks mistake it for a Kimber anyway, as Coopers seem to be not that well known in these parts :banghead:
Either way you go will be good, it's just my feeling that the Cooper is a step up from the Kimber. Remember too that a gun like this will likely spend several generations in your family, so buy accordingly.
