well

At least they weren't calling it an assault weapon.

I still remember a news show on a Chicago station when I still lived there around 1990 of the arsenal captured from a drug house raid. Revolvers, shotgun couple of centerfire rifles and a machine gun. It was all displayed very nicely on a table for the obligatory photo and centerpiece was the machine gun. A single shot bolt action target rifle with a thumb hole stock. 2 hours later when they repeated the broadcast the picture and mention of a machine gun was not mentioned. Only guessing but somebody probably got an education after the first broadcast. This same station always showed a little 45 pistol up in the upper left hand corner of the screen whenever they reported crime news. No guns involved in the crime made no difference, it was always there.

I wouldn't bet on that young man in Long Beach being fired, more likely sentenced to a rehab program and a long probation riding a desk somewhere unless they get a lot of heat from Mayor Foster's office.

1) It's spelled California.
2) Ordinary citizens are allowed to carry concealed in California if permits are granted by county or city law enforcement. They are granted more often than you may think.
3) No permit is needed to carry concealed if you are fishing, hunting, or camping in California.
4) Open carry is permitted in certain jurisdictions.
5) It is popular to deride and damn CA, but note that retiring Californians are very attracted to Colorado.

If you don't live in CA and know what's up you shouldn't post inaccurate info.

Go to : www.calguns.net for the best info on CA gun laws.

CCW, OC can get you shot or arrested in CA if not very careful. Even if you are LEO as in the article. CCW while legal with permit is NOT given out unless you have a "Good Cause" as determined by the local sheriff or Chief of Police. Many municipalities are being sued because of their illegal policy's.
