Chrome lined barrels are easier to clean (I've learned that from experience) and are more resistant to corrosion. I suppose because of these two facts, many of us tend to not clean them as well or as often as we maybe should. I tend to clean my AR barrels with nothing more than just a couple passes of CLP on a bore snake. Which leads me to wonder about the affects of copper fouling on chrome lined rifle barrels.
Since the chrome lining is "slicker", is copper fouling less of a problem? If is is still a problem, can caustic copper cutters such as Sweets cause any harm to the chrome lining or is this less likely than with a standard chrome moly barrel?
I suppose my question is mostly directed at AR-15 rifles and since they are generally very accurate, the affects of fouling in the barrel may be more noticable, but obviously this applies to a large number of other rifles as well.
