On And Off Duty
When I was a fed leo, and working stateside assignments, I carried my issue Glock 17, with a Smith mod 60 for backup.
When I was on assignment in Panama for 4 years, I carried a stainless Colt Combat Commander in .45acp, and a stainless Colt Officer's ACP, also in .45acp. The Panamanian jungle could rust titanium!
I have been retired for 7 years now,at the ripe old age of 37, and I am a staffing manager for a nursing company.
They offered me a desk job in the People's Rebublik Of California, or a pension...I took the pension and limped off into the sunset!
I was hurt in the line of duty...no, I wasn't shot, I broke both knees in a crash in Panama. I have a civilian CCW and now, as I did then, carry everywhere I go.
These days I carry a Glock 22 as a primary, and often a Glock 27 or another small frame auto for a BUG. I like the Glock/Glock combo...same ammo, same manual of arms, and darn it...they work!
If I am feeling nostalgic...I carry my Colt combo, or even a real slick 3" Smith Model 65.
The point is...carry your gun, and carry a BUG.
I always carry strong side in a pancake holster of my own design and manufacture, and the BUG is on the ankle.
'Nuff said.
