I've heard great things about the Corbon DPX ammo in .38 Special and think it would be the perfect SD food for my S&W Model 38 Airweight. It seems Corbon used to make a standard pressure, non +P version of this ammunition. Does anyone know where you can find it?

The standard pressure .38 special DPX load was discontinued by Corbon because the velocity was not high enough to stabilize the bullet, resulting in decreased accuracy potential and "keyholing". After such reports surfaced Corbon developed the DPX .38 + P round, the increased velocity of which stabilizes the bullet and performs quite well.

If you do not wish to fire + P rounds in your firearm, I would advise finding a standard pressure round other than the DPX.

Buffalo bore offers a Barnes all copper bullet in .38 special standard pressure

as well as an assortment of other standard pressure .38 special rounds

I'd probably go with the 158 gr. Soft Lead SWC-HC unless a copper bullet is very important to you.

There are a few other standard pressure rounds out there on the market.
