At the gun show today I bought a Cetme stock set which the dealer said was the right one for my Century now being shipped. The crucial issue seems to be the end portion of the recoil spring rod. Was he right? Will this work in my Century Cetme?

Thanks,

Is it a wood stock set? If info and its imported you may have a problem with 922 parts count.

Also check with CETMErifles.com for info

If what I can see in the picture is a 1/2" long metal guide ring on the end, it is for a cetme. The HK used a black plastic ring, and it won't fit through the CETMEs bolt carrier.

I got my Cetme today. I tried replacing the retractable stock which came with it with the wooden butt. The wooden butt would slide on and attach with the pins but would not allow the cocking piece to go all the way back. Am I doing something wrong in installing the butt or is the recoil spring assembly not meshing with the bolt carrier? The rifle seemed to work fine with the retractable butt after I reinstalled it. This is the first time I have worked with a Cetme.

Thanks,

The correct answer is that the dealer sold me the wrong butt stock. The metal fitting behind the end piece on the recoil spring rod is too big to go into the recoil spring tube. I will replace the hourglass shaped metal part with a plastic washer or buffer of the right size. Pardon my misue of terms; I am new to Cetmes and worked on my first one today. I am more familiar with FALs.

Thanks,
