What ammo were you using to put those ten rounds into a dime size group? That is pretty good for a semi auto. If you did that using Federal bulk pack ammunition, I'd say quite whining and go shoot some more.
On the more serious side, if you just got the rifle you probably haven't put it through its paces yet. I believe that .22 rifles are more picky about ammunition than any other caliber. I'd suggest getting your hands on as many different brands and types of ammunition that you can. Although high and hyper velocity is lots of fun to shoot, the standard velocity stuff is usually what will get you the tightest groups.
I have a 10/22 that I've done some work to and in its latest iteration, it shoots the best with Wolf Match. That stuff is SLOW moving. When shooting while looking through the scope, the bullets look like spit balls moving toward the target, but they do hit where I put the cross hairs.
