First one is a dumb question, I just never thought to ask. Having a VA CHP, I don't have to keep other guns not on me 'securely locked and unloaded' when travelling in VA or other reciprocal states, do I? I have been, just wondering.

Second, I can simply apply through the mail for a non-resident FL license and gain all those extra states (including TX) for me to legally carry, right?

Third, when crossing through the panhandle of MD or PA from VA, I can simply unload and lock up my CZ in the back and still be legal?

Basically I take road trips out of VA quite a bit (kayaking).

Questions??

QUESTION 1. Yes you can carry all of you guns loaded but I would not recommend it. I only carry my CCW loaded. A loaded gun in the trunk when some one rear ends you is not my cup of tea. Accidents do happen.
QUESTION 2. I am not up on Florida law so I do not know.
QUESTION 3. Yes, you can transport your firearms unloaded across state lines as long as you are legally permitted to posses the firearm where you begin the trip and end the trip, federal law covers this. :p

Packing.org shows how to get the various permits with or without an "in person" visit. FL does not require an in person visit, you can do it all through the mail.
