Couple of questions

Hey guys, I have a few questions:

1) One of the two little front pins that align the barrel fell out as I was cleaning the gun. I picked it up and pushed it back in where it was, and it didn't feel loose so I went ahead and put the barrel back on. I tried dismount the barrel again to see if the pin would work itself loose, but it didn't. Is that a big deal? Should I have someone fix that? or perhaps there's a home remedy.

2) I need a recommendation for a BP revolver case not for presentation but for practical use for the range. It needs to hold the revolver (61 Navy) Caps, a bag of felt wads, wedge remover, nipple wrench, and powder measure. I don't use/own a flask.

2. Any case will do for the revolver. I'd lean towards a medium sized leather pouch for the bits and pieces myself. Mind you, I'd be making it.

The pins on an open top Uberti slide out and in, that's how Uberti does it. Pietta swedges the pins into the frame side if the Revs using Smaller pins on frame side to not misdrill and have the hole come up to the surface of the frame inder the cylinder. The Barrel end of the pins are larger and slinde in or aoof the barrel assy....and a biatch to get out the frame end is where Pietta break off. I replaced two in an 1860 Army while using 777 ffg 28gr dynamite granuels. N+be happy your pins fall out.

I don't think that box would hold up to range use. I use tackle boxes for my "stuff" and a padded case to transport the revolver. Walmart has a big plastic shooter's box that works great.

The pins fell out of one of my guns a few years ago (can't remember which one) and I just expoxied them (or it) back in. Shooters have good luck with JB Weld.

I know that Smokin' Gun has done some "hands on" research in regards to these pins. He is Da Pin Guy. If you have any questions before you attempt a "fix", run it by him or a half dozen other guys on this and the Voy forum. I think you'll get some good answers without involving a gunsmith.
