As the title says, I want to replace the 14.5 barrel of my CQA (NORINCO SEMI CLONE of M4) with a M16A2 barrel. I have read about M4 feed ramps cut on barrel. Do you guys suggest this swap & what will be effect on functionality of rifle after barrel change.
Thanking in advance for your kind input.

Palmetto State Armory offers 20 inch flat top uppers (A3 I believe) with A2 front site and flash hider. Add a bolt on carry handle and you got yourself an A2 clone.

Thanks for your kind words, I don't have access to all those AR stuff being in south east Asia. Is there any way around it, all I have is elbow grease to put on this swap.

Well, that does complicate things. Since the membership here is overwhelmingly US citizens living in the US, we have a tendency to operate under that assumption unless residency elsewhere is mentioned or listed in your member info.

Is it possible for you to get the barrel with M4 cuts, or do you already have the barrel? Many barrels, regardless if length, are now available with M4 cuts due to the overwhelming number of receivers cut that way.

I have a USGI surplus barrel purchased, will try to source an upper.

Nope, regular M16 feed ramps in that photo. M4 ramps are much deeper in the barrel extension and match with corresponding cuts into the upper receiver. I'm a bit of an idiot when it comes to computer stuff, but I'll try to attach a photo.

Notice that you can see the circle of the barrel extension, then you can also see the cuts into the receiver surrounding the extension.
