i bought my witness 10mm last summe, and only have about 500 rds thru it. after my last afternoon of shooting, i cleaned the gun and found a crack in the slide below the ejection port. needless to say, huge bummer. i've heard of this hapening to other witness handguns, but it was usually after a lot of rounds. anyone had warranty work done by EAA? how long was the turn around? i was planning on using this as a backwoods defense gun, butnow, even after it gets repaired i'm not sure i can trust it...
should i give it a second chance?

Unfortunately you have to return the entire gun and on your dime.

FedEx & UPS insist you overnight it which is expensive. I don't know if it was a mistake by the counter person or that since I dropped mine off on a Friday after their next day deadline for Saturday delivery had passed, they let me send sent it 3-day which is way cheaper.

So try going to FedEx after 3PM Friday to send it off, might same you some cash.

Despite the "3-day" shipping got my gun back the very next Friday, 7-days door-to-door and EAA thru in a spare mag for my troubles. Replaced the rounded "light" slide with the heavier squared profile one. So far so good, but I don't shoot much 10mm compared to other calibers, I also have a .45ACP upper for it.
