I have a nib 637 that is stainless steel, I want to send the gun to S&W and have the clearcoat took off from the aluminum and have it anodized black like the 442 but I want the barrel and cylinder left alone in stainless. I think this would look really cool because i have a wilson 1911 that is two tone like this.
Anyone know what this would cost??

You can email S&W for a quote, I believe. There is also a list of prices for custom work on their website.

Since they have to remove and then reinstall the barrel, what you have in mind isn't going to be cheap - if they will do it at all. But do go get a bid on the work and see. After all, it is your pocketbook. :)

By the way they used to make revolvers (called "Pinto's") along the line you have in mind.

You will be making a modern version of what is known as a "Pinto". S&W did a few of these a number years ago in Blue and Nickel. I haven't decided if I like the look or not.

I have a 4" Colt Python with a blue frame and a nickel cylinder and barrel.

I found it at a gun shop in Tucson some years ago.

It seems Colt made some for Arizona DPS.

I will post a pic when I get the dig cam from the wife's car.

I would love to have that done too.

Just got one of the no lock 37's and actually thought about swapping the cylinders with my 642 and having a 'smith check to make sure everything is aligned right.

Two 2-tones guns...
