We are often compared to England and other countries.

I am just curious. Since we have varying gun laws in America has anyone done the created the following.

Violent crime rates for the "free states". I define a free state as a state that has shall issue ccw and no AW ban.

Violent crime for the "gun restricted states". I define those states as states that have may or no issue on ccw and/or AW bans.

That would be one set of numbers.

I would also like to see what the national crime stats would be if we removed just Chicago, Washington DC and New York city from the numbers since they restrict even home ownership of guns.

Blending free state and gun restricted states, but removing the cities with effective gun bans would be another set of numbers.

I have a gut feeling that the overall crime rates in America would take a significant dip by removing these cities from the calculations.

We have facts on our side, but with these numbers we could make the emotional arguement that GUN CONTROL CREATES HELPLESS VICTIMS.

We also could start calling our opponents for what they are, bigots.

For example.

Anyone who opposes women carrying guns for protection is pro rapist.

Anyoe who oppose women carrying guns for protection against abusers of stalkers supports domestic violence.

Anyone who opposes Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals or Transgendered individuals from carrying guns for self defense is a homophobe.

Anyone who opposes minorities from having guns is a racist.

Anyone who is in the above group who supports gun control has been infected with victim mentality disease and we must work to cure them, it is a terminal disease if left untreated:evil:

In general the amount of gun restrictions is inversely proportional to crime rates when looking at individual states.

Now, do more gun restrictions cause more crime, or are voters and state governments in states that have low crime for other reasons more likely to have no interest in passing more gun laws? And would the crime rates in the high gun restrictions state be even higher if their gun laws were not in place? The objective answer is you can’t tell (that old correlation-does-not-prove-cause-and-effect again.) The subjective answer is to take whatever you believe and say the statistics prove this.

Perhaps it is better to look at the fact firsts and find the conclusions that are there, rather than make the conclusion and then look for support in statistics.

If criminals exist, the law abiding are better off with guns than without.

When the Police can do their job unarmed, you can talk to me about giving up my guns, but I'll be hiding behind that little thing called the Second Amendment to keep them!

Even if there was no crime, shooting guns is fun and reason enough to own them.

I think the NRA could give you all the crime statistics you could want. Over the years they have compiled all the evidence needed to support gun ownership. Unfortunatly the other side has no comprehension to understand such data.

Seems like the "numbers" always get skewed in one way or another. Forget the numbers and give me my gun.
