I want to install a crimson trace red dot grip to my S&W Model 58 - .41 mag.
The main use will be for hunting. I need some info on this red dot grip to see if it is logical as far as hunting goes to make this purchase.
How far does the red dot go ?
How long do the batteries last ?
Is the red dot accurate enough for a kill shot on a deer at 50 yards ?
I have small hands. How much increase in size with the crimson trace grips added ?
Do you hunt with this crimson trace and have you made any kills ?
The price is a little steep so I need some revolver users to help me decide if this is a practical hunting method.

I have the first set I ever bought on my 340PD, a little 2" snubbie. I've only had them a couple of weeks, but to answer your questions, they will run out about 100 yrds fairly accurate in low light. They will bring hours of enjoyment and vexation to my Scotish Terrier, that chases that light out to about 100 yards behind the house and back again (and around and around).

I originally tried them out at 50 yrds on this pistol with dramatic success, then finally zeroed them to 25'.

I really like them.

According to the dealer where I bought my CT grips, the batteries are good for about 3 continuous hours of laser light. I've got mine on a S&W 637 2-inch .38 special. Makes an excellent carry gun.

i he used the grips on about eerything they are made for,

the dot goes to about 4" at 100 yds, and still very visible. my biggest hoo rah for thegrips is with te snub nose revlver, you can actually see you barrel dive in real time and adjust while firing at close range, 10-25ys. this is huge for practice, just dont get sloppy and stop using th sights if it is a cary piece unless you fully intend to NEVER removeit.

I highly reccomend the grips on any small CCW gun because hey make for great real time feed back and will help in a real life bad situation.

Good information !! I appreciate it.

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
