CRKT Hammond ABC Operator Knife

Jim Hammond is a friend of mine and Rod Bremmer at CRKT is a good buddy, but as someone who has guided on the Ocoee River and kayaked all over the SE USA the ABC is in no way appropriate as a whitewater boating knife.

It would make a reasonble dive knife for "no touchy" divers like myself, but is too small for heavy use under water or in cold conditions.

It is a good example of a minimalist utility/boot with no bells or whistles at a good price (MSRP $70/street $50/who' $40-45).

I've no interest in whitewater rafting, myself; all I know is that CRKT styles the knife as such on their website.

From CRKT's website
Jim Hammond is an active outdoorsman as well as a custom knifemaker and Knifemakers’ Guild member. When his diving and whitewater friends pointed out the need for a better multipurpose fixed blade, he developed his custom A.B.C. (All Bases Covered) knife/sheath system. The two CRKT production versions are faithful to Jim’s designs and priced to put them within reach of everyone who depends on a knife for work, survival and rescue.
