CrossBreed put their ankle holster on sale last week, so I figured I'd try it to make my 642 snub a BUG.
Initial test showed that when they say ankle, they mean ankle! I wear boots most days, and the holster strap will not reach around my meager, non-athletic calf. Thus, the BUG-at-ankle will only happen when I am wearing low quarter shoes.
That said, the adjustability of the holster itself and the included calf strap (which you can remove completely if you wish) is pretty good.
Also, be sure to watch the YouTube videos on how to size and set it up. Setting the retention strap for only just enough velcro contact behind the gun, then practicing breaking it open by shoving your thumb behind it, is critical to learning how to draw. Without that knowledge, you would try to rip the velcro strap from the outside of the holster, which is too difficult and takes too long.
