Crowning And Chamfer On Redhawk?

That's the same tool I use to recrown .22 barrels after I cut them off. There is also a "squaring" cutter that uses the same T handle that I use to get the barrel square after cutting.....

Granted the tool is nice but unless you do a lot of cut-off/recrown jobs it seems a bit expensive. There are counterbore bits that can be had for considerably cheaper on EBay. I just usually turn pilots to whatever size I need for the job. If you like the "Round" type crown anyone with a lathe can quickly grind a toolbit that will accomodate all "Tastes" and Flayva's

Tool Envy is a medical condition!

Thanks tractorshaft.

I have an FFL03, so I can get the tool for $71. If I could find a gunsmith I'd trust, I'm sure I'd be out at least $50 for the job. Furthermore, most I know of will keep your gun for at least a month if you're lucky.

Bump for any more info/experience with DIY crowning and chamfering.

Thanks.
