Hello,

I keep flipping my walther's (P99s and PPQs). I find the recoil a bit more than I would expect...but the accuracy is just outstanding.

I have never shot a G34 before, but I am considering picking one up just for range target giggles. However, I keep coming back to the idea of getting my 5th P99. I love the ergos, mag release, accuracy, etc. The thought of a longer barrel "competition gun" does intrigue me too.

What say you? Outstanding Walther single action trigger or Glock 34 with longer sight radius/barrel?

(I realize the PPQ comes in 5", but that model has the standard mag release. At that point, I would buy the G34.)

I'm kinda opposite.

I like the standard mag release better. The extra sight radius on the Glock 34 is good, but I personally like the ergos and trigger on the Walthers a lot better.

I don't like the stock sights on either of them but you do have more aftermarket options with the Glock.

I know you said you don't like it but if it was me I'd get the PPQ M2 5" - seems like the best of both worlds IMHO. Barring that, for carry I'd take the PPQ M1 or P99. For competition or range use, the Glock 34.

I agree. It seems like you may be in the market for 5" PPQ.

Too bad Walther fumbled and resorted to a push-button release on the new PPQs, so your P99 mags won't work with it. Still, it looks to be an awesome pistol.

If you dont like the standard mag release just take a PPQ 5" M2 upper and just slide it right onto an M1 lower. They are interchangeable. I've done it and so have many others.....flawless thru hundreds of rounds.....
