CSI Miami makes a faux pas tonight

I received a lecture on how I didn't need a gun for defense and shouldn't have one

"That's nice, officer. You're badge number is what again? Cool... now leave my property, or do your job. Fairlure to comply means I file a complaint against you"

Of course, I'm a cantankerous SOB. I even ask for PC if I'm being asked for ID (other than when driving). I do NOT pay taxes to be hassled by an officer...:fire:

And this is in no way a bash on ALL cops: just those with "the attitude"...

Years ago I was discussing RKBA with 2 police officers who where picking up a print order where I worked, one captain and one green rookie.

The rookie started a similar lecture. I interupted him and replied "with that attitude toward law abiding citizens and our constitution YOU shouldn't have a badge"

The captain laughed out loud and slapped the rookie on the sholder and said "he got you with that one!".

Rookie wasn't too happy and told me I needed to "watch my attitude".

The captain decided that was a good time to go because he could see me formulating a reply :p

I believe the Captain has since retired (this was close to a decade ago) but I believe that rookie is a detective now :(

why in the hell do you people watch tv?
why in the hell do watch major network tv?

you have a limited amount of time during the day and you are whizzing it away infront of a tv? when i'm not working or going to a movie or shopping or working my other job i'm casting bullets, sizing bullets, loading ammo or going shooting.

Oh. Thank you for putting an end to my misconception.

Sorry if I was a little terse there. Man my knee has been killing me for 2 weeks and last night it was screaming. Thank God for Vicodin. :) But they drained 6 tubes of knee-juice out of it today and it's much better.

I do watch that show, and I'm not sure why. Doesn't seem real life at all, and I've seen the Vegas CSI people and believe me, they don't look anything like the actors. I wish! :) I have to have soemthing on the TV while I'm on the computer, so yea that's why it's on. :D

why in the hell do you people watch tv?.....
KInd of hard to be out shooting at 2200 hours on a Monday night when CSI Miami come son. I just started watching that show this spring and am hooked. I rarely watch much network TV, myself. Yeah, some of its unrealistic, but thats the case with everything on TV. I was more disturbed with the current Walking Tall flick than I am with anything I see on CSI Miami.

To each their own.

""why in the hell do you people watch tv?
why in the hell do watch major network tv?""

no matter how eloquently they may be stated. Dao.

Horatio doesn't have his head on straight. I mean literally. He's always squinting with his head tilted. I think he needs coaching on his stance.

Yeah, like Elvis needed a coach on HIS stance, too. How much does Caruso make per show? I think the show is oatmeal, but I love Emily and Kandi, having had "friends" who look like each of them. And there ae some good action (fake) shots (camera AND weapon.) I hope it gets another season. Dao.

Well. first off, it's TV and they don't have time to wait 6 or 8 months for the crime lab to get the DNA evidence back to them. :D I know there are a lot of things that are inaccurate on the show but it is entertainment, not real life. If it were strictly factual they couldn't attract a large enough audience to stay on the air for a month. I've been watching the actual crime scene shots on the nightly news of the CSI troops in Albuqurque working the west mesa where 13 bodies have been found in the last few weeks. It's real but unless you like to see people raking dirt that a front loader is digging up you won't be interested very long.

I kind of like the show. In defense of Caruso and the other actors, they are actors and they have a director who says how the scene is acted out. I guess if you want to remain an actor on the show and the director tells you to stand with your hands on your hips, tilt your head and deliver your lines, whether factual or not, that is what you do.
