Behold....The Master Piece Arms Mac10 clones.

http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/programming/listview.asp?CatId=4

They are considered to be the most reliable MAC10 clones. They also have rails, side cocking handles (FAL style), and if 9mm or 45 can use UNMODIFIED Sten or M3a1 mags. You know how cheap you can get those!

Here, have a taste.

I wouldn't recommend an Uzi for the lady, it sure is a hefty piece. The ladies I've let shoot mine had trouble just wielding it. Undoing the folding stock isnt an easy task, nor is operating the charging handle. My mom tried and she just wasn't able to get more than a few rounds before she got tired.

Same goes for the Tommy, its a really heavy piece that is more novelty than practical use in my opinion.

I'll probably get some ugly mail over this but the Marlin Camp guns that I have seen were JUNK! Twice I've had guys show up at Urban Rifle courses with them and they just will not take the pounding. One guy's gun constantly jammed-with Speer Lawman 230 ball out of several different name mags- Mccormicks, Metal Forms etc....

The other guy had his front sight fall off in the first 20 minutes of the class. Thank God for black electricians tape! We got it back on and he finished the day.....swapped it the next weekend at the gunshow for an AK. They are just not built as a combat weapon, beer can buster, maybe but for "reals" as my kids say....bad juju.

I don't think there really is a good .45 acp carbine on the market right now.The options are all pricey, of limited capacity or dubious quality/design. It's probably pretty much a niche market thing.....

Not from me, your experience matches mine.

It is a strange thing since it seems that there is more than a niche market for these things. It is one of the more common threads I see on THR. It certainly wouldn't be the first time gun manufacturers completely missed/ignored market demand.

The factory has not started production for the .45 ACP carbine. In all honesty, we keep hearing "soon", but so far we haven't been given a definite date. We really don't see it being available before the end of the year or sometime in 2008.

We will be updating our website www.hi-pointfirearms.com when the carbine is released and being shipped; please check on the site now and then for any news. We’ll be keeping you posted as best we can.

Email from Hi Point Today...big maybe, but would be a lot of fun.

I agree with lawyerman.

I love my camp .45, but it's a camp gun/plinker rather than a serious fighting rifle, and it should only be mistaken for one in when it's the rifle you've got when evil knocks.

I've never shot one, but I like the looks of those .45acp AR's... Might have to get me one of those some day.

My CX-4 in .40SW is becoming one of my favorites rifles. Shoots Well and had proved to be Very Dependable. Would make a fine HD Rifle for your stated purposes.

I own a Camp 45 but as soon as I got my AR15 in .45 ACP running I haven't shot it since. My big complaint was capacity and I solved that by building an AR in .45 ACP that uses 30 round grease gun mags. I also like that it is not a different manual of arms than my .223.

I had an HK USC in .45 and it was a sweet little shooter. My big problem with it was that it would only accept 10rd mags and I didn't want to spend the money on the conversion kit. So I sold it and early this year and bought an AR with the money and couldn't be happier.

As for me....my .45 cal carbine will arrive in two days! Thompson 1927A-1:D

Personally I would stay away from any of the HK clones such as Vulcan and Bobcat, I've had some nasty experiences with those manufactures and would never suggestion them to anyone:barf::barf::barf: My USC may not have been able to accept more than 10rd mags, but at least I could get off 10rds without it jamming, the only HK clone company out there I trust is JLD and I don't believe they make any pistol caliber carbines:banghead:

Vulcan/Hesse, Bobcat, and Special Weapons clones aren't good, but I've only listed businesses that have good feedback on my thread. For instance, I've never heard anything really bad about ORF, RDTS, Cohaire, or Vector clones.
