OK, no problem, but if you didn't want the folding buttstock you could have just bought a standard poly-stocked Mini-14 and then put it in a Boyd's hardwood stock.
For example, as I did with mine:
OK, maybe a little too gaudy for a tactical rifle, but they've got a lot of stock woods, colors and shapes to pick from.
I was Invited to look at some firearms that were part of an estate. My Mini 14 was one of them. I bought 3 NIB rifles and was given a Military Flintlock Rifle marked "MILES CP".
I did not go shopping for a Mini but bought it because it was there.
