I'll be going to the gun show tomorrow! :D:rolleyes::cool::D:)

I know....I know.... But I like gun shows. I the most fun I have with guns is surplus rifles. Normally I can tell the current going rate of what is available, but I've been busy lately.... Can you guys help with a reasonable retail (Or C&R or Wholesale) prices of current surplus options? If you have bought something lately, what did you give for it?

1. R/C Mauser
2. Enfield No1 MK4
3. MN 91/30 - J&G has them for 120 +/-
4. MN 44
5. SR K31

(Please add it if I have missed something readily available)

FWIW, Big 5 has the Mosin 91/30 on sale this week for $99, and the Mosin 38 for $139. I lived in central Ohio almost 30 years ago, don't know if you have Big 5 there now or not.

Seriously, if I were you I'd just do my homework and look around at:
AImsurplus
classic arms
SOG (if you have a C&R)
J&G
and Samco.

Mosin 91/30s seem to be in the $75-100 range depending on condition.
M44's are tough to find on the major websites. You have to check auction sites, where they seem to be fetching $125-50 ish.

My interest lies with MN's so I can't hep you with the other stuff. Like i said. look around the websites mentioned above and it'll give you an idea.

Yeah I go to those, but that covers the things being released.

I did discover the No1 Mk4 at Classic is selling for 240.00 (Which is a good deal)

I paid $400 for a factory-wrapped No4MK2 last year
I paid $80 in Dec for a 91/30 in very good condition.

The next surplus rifle I'm trying to find is a very good condition 1903a3 under $900. I like the wood to look good, but more important to me is how it shoots. Nothing in my collection is for show.

However, I see that you're going to a gun show. I don't know anything about Ohio gun shows, but in my area they aren't known for having prices in the realm of reality. I expect to look for deals on random things, but actual rifles will always be a few to several hundred dollars over what they should be at large gun shows.

Typically here there are several guys vendors selling the current / newly released rifles at 10-20 dollars more than the wholesale price. Typically you can find most things fairly reasonable. However, when the craze was going strong the gun show prices were the first to go up. I find good deals walking around with somebody, but I like to know the going rates, because sometimes you have to move quick and if you wait to think you might miss it.

Truthfully, I like the haggle & open market feel. Just dont like to be on the wrong side of a deal. :D

I would add CMP rifles to the list.

M1 Carbines as low as $419 (IIRC)
M1 Garands as low as $445.

These are rack grades, so they are not in the best of condition, but they are a nice piece of history.

The K31s at the recent show were expensive... then I saw online that they were really priced at the normal going rate... glad I bought mine a few years ago.
