Old Sneaky here: I'm interested in buying a custom/accuracy barrel in .223 Rem for a T/C Encore rifle for target shooting and possily Varmint also. Has anyone had any dealings/business with E. Arthur Brown and their custom barrels??? or is there any other dealers/custom bbl. makers that I shoud consider??? I'll be using handload with bullet weights of 55>80gr. Currently I'v been shooting an AR/15 w/ a 24"bbl match upper with 1/9 twist and 55grHornady "V"max/moly@3150fps and have shot a .375" 8round group@100yds off the bench. I would imagine that that T/C Encore with a accurate bbl should do better??

An Encore with a great barrel might do a little better, but the Encore design is not ideal for demanding the best benchrest groups. With the hinged barrel and no way to truly float the forend, don't expect it to keep up with a good bolt gun, or beat a good AR.

I've never dealt with EABCO personaly. My Encore barrels come from Match Grade Machine.

I like the Encore, but it wouldn't be my first choice as a benchrest gun.
