customer service or lack of at local range

Ok small rant, so yesterday i go to this range/gunstore that i have been going to for the past year and a half. Every once in a while they change a rule or two and sometimes this throws me of but, the clerks have always explained things, maybe not in the nicest way, but we always understood ourselves.

Well last night i was there and i asked the clerk how many lanes he was giving me and he told me one, ( its a small range and they where busy). Well i told him i needed another lane since i was there with my fiance and both of us where going to shoot. On top of that a friend of mine was on his way so i was going to give him my lane when he got there and share one with my girl.

Well this guy very rudely tells me that he is giving me one lane only because they are a small range. I attempted to explain my situation, then he cut me off and told me "Listen buddy don't get smart with me" well that was the straw that broke the camels back. First of all i was there with another person another paying customer and she wanted her own lane, we where first in line, so it was our turn after waiting about 20 mins for the range to clear.

Well i kind of when off on the guy, i told him i wasn't getting smart and that after a year and a half of shooting there i knew how big the range was. Then on my way out i kinda mutter to him "jerkoff" which by the way is not something i was proud of, and i did feel bad latter, but he really pissed me off. Anyways lets just say i am looking for a new range, which sucks because they had a big rental wall with quite a few sigs, and other nice guns, and a nice milsurplus rack as well.

Go to the NRA website and do a search for a local private club, affiliated with the NRA, then contact them and become a member. You will be much happier I guarrantee it.

Friends dont let friends shoot at commercial ranges.

Where do you live maybe someone here knows of a club in your area.

Was this clown the owner or general manager? If not complain to the owner. Inform the owner that unless this type of customer no-service stops you will look for somewhere else to spend your money even if it is further to drive. This usually gets their attention. Follow throug as well. Name say two other locations that would love to have you and your business.

I've always avoided commercial ranges. I perfer to go the free rifle range out in George Washington National Forest. If you check the USDA Forest Service website you might find one near you.

Well there are a few others around, i used to go to this public range, and it was ok while this old man was running the firing line, however it is now being run by the Nazi from hell range master. I dont get it why is it that @ss##### gravitate to ranges so much. O i live in Broward County FLorida, so if any of you know any ranges that are open late say to 6:00 or 7:00 pm let me know.

O and the range managers seem full of it also. The only reason i kept going was becasue they had a few good employees, and that was the first range i ever shot in.

Don't feel bad, they get away from that because ranges are getting arder to find and they figure they have a monopoly. We have some gunshops around here like that, although they are getting better since Sportsmans Warehouse came in.

Just be clad that you are not Haier Appliance comany. They were playing games with me on one of their Refrigerators. I was at work when I called them the last time and they ticked me off. Noone would come within 50" of me for about a half hour. I guess I was eminating the male kill fermones, if there is such a thing.

How have they treated you in the past? Everyone has a bad day and you certainly can't expect excellent customer service at a gun range. They're small, it sounds like they were busy, and maybe they thought your group should share a lane to free up other lanes for others to shoot?

IMO I wouldn't give up on them just because someone had an attitude. Just go, shoot, and enjoy best you can.
