I have a CVA Firebolt in .50. Somewhere along the line the front sight blade insert ended up MIA. Called CVA, they were acquired by someone years ago and do not support this particular rifle. So searching the web I did find one company(MB Sporting Goods) that claimed to have just what I needed, I ordered, wrong part and it will not fit.

So this appears to be a simple push in fiber optic blade, sounds simple but I have had no luck finding one. My question here is, does anyone have a suggestion where I may find the correct front blade?

Attached are a few photos of the sight base and the replacement that wont work on this rifle:

Thanks for any help !

There is one listed as available on the Deer Creek Products of Waldron, Indiana website for $8.00.--->>> http://www.deercreekproducts.net/store/p1177/Front_Sight_-_Hunter_Bolt,_Firebolt,_Mag_Bolt_and_Mag_Hunter..html

Does Deer Creek have the correct front sight? If you're not sure, email them the photo of your ramp and ask them it it's the right sight replacement, or if they have it available.

Use their contact page or send them an email:--->>> [email protected]

If not, Williams Guns Sights has some options to fit into front dovetail ramps that come in different heights.
They might be able to provide you with a sight that may only need some minor fitting.--->>> https://williamsgunsight.com/product-category/long-gun-front/

Deer Creek also has other parts available for the Firebolt:--->>> http://www.deercreekproducts.net/store/c13/CVA_Hunterbolt,_Firebolt,_Mag_Bolt,_and_Mag_Hunter_Parts.html

Good luck and let us know how it works out. :)

not the same sight

The company below also has the front sight in stock for a Firebolt.
However, I think there were 2 different generations of the Firebolt rifle.
The 1st was the Firebolt and the 2nd was the Firebolt Ultramag.
Which do you have, the Ultra Mag?
That may be why the part below may also not be the same.

Front sight for firebolt rifle 20639 --->>> https://www.mbsportinggoods.com/cva-gun-parts.html
Front sight for firebolt rifle
$8.99

eBay also has quite a few Firebolt parts, but not the sight.
You may need to keep a look out for the sight set on eBay which could take a long time for one to be listed.

I would also suggest extensively searching using Google.
If you know the part number that could help in a search.
Is the part number listed in your owner's manual?
If you can provide it then I'll search some more.

Did you take a look at the options that Williams offers?
Contacting them may help to find a sight that fits your ramp.

Thanks for the reply. The sight [https://www.mbsportinggoods.com/uploads/9/0/2/3/9023202/s876418629757933989_p3898_i2_w1280.jpeg] is the wrong sight, its the one I ordered and it can not be adapted to this rifle. I have googled and checked ebay, no one seams to have this site. I have also looked through the front sight blade selection at Brownells, nothing there either. I have uploaded three additional photos with all the numbers on the rifle I could locate. Additionally another photo of the front site base. I do not have the owners manual. I have been waiting for Williams to return my call.

It looks like you have a Firebolt and not the Firebolt Ultramag.

Deer Creek has a page full of schematics, but the schematic listed as Firebolt is for the Firebolt Ultramag and the part number is the same one that you bought.
The Deer Creek schematics page says that they can be contacted for additional schematics, and that they have more available.
The schematic would at least show a different part number which may be available somwhere.

Schematics page:--->>> http://www.deercreekproducts.net/schematics-manuals--information.html

The CVA inline manual shown is for 3 bolt models, the Staghorn, Eclipse and Firebolt.
The Staghorn rear sight that I found for sale on eBay is all plastic and not a Williams rear sight like the one on your rifle. [ eBay item number: 162252727378 ]

Unless CVA changed to using Williams [rear] sights at some point on the standard Firebolt model, then there's a chance that you have an after-market sight set.
Did you buy the rifle new?
Did you take the front sight off or did a previous owner remove it?

If you emailed a photo of your front sight base [and rear sight] to Deer Creek, they might know in a second if it's a factory sight base or not.
They may also be able to check for the correct Firebolt schematic.

I can't even tell for sure if your front sight base is metal or plastic.
Is the rear sight base metal and the other plastic?

The sights appear to be Williams, they are plastic. The rifle belongs to my father, he bought it new, it was originally percussion cap fired, I got him the 209 conversion kit. The sight was there a week ago, where it is now is a mystery. I also have a firebolt, purchased several years after this rifle, mine came set up for the 209 primer, it also has a fluted barrel. The sights are williams, and plastic, but different than the one I need.

On the advice of Williams gun sights, I ordered #59082: .57W Firesight Bead from Brownells. I will advise on the outcome in a few weeks. Thanks to all for the input,
grazie !

Ok, as promised I am reporting the results of my front sight dilemma. The sight arrived and the dovetail on the rifle is not the same as the dovetail on the sight. So after pondering what the next step would be I just decided to reduce the size of the sights dovetail. Using a file and sharpening stone, along with constant measuring I was able to achieve a not perfect but acceptable fit. There is no barrel centerline mark near the dovetail on either piece so I just eyeballed as best I could. I will tap the sight in the needed direction when I sight it in the follow up with green loc-tite. Thanks again all for the help.

Let's hope that the new front site is the correct height.
If it's not, there may be ways to try to fix it.

For what it's worth, Deer Creek does not respond to information request when you fill out the contact/message form, and I did not see an email listed.
