You could try using as heavy bullets as will feed (77-grain?) and either replacing the gas port bushing (inside the gas block at the front of the stock) with one with a much bigger hole, or removing the bushing entirely IF the gas won't vent through the gas block seam if you do that (it might, I don't know). If you do the latter, don't fire full-power ammo through the thing, or else you might break something.

Silencers are one area where European laws are more liberal than American.
Some of the AR-15 guys use adjustable gas tubes. I have no idea if something like that is possible with the Mini-14 design.
Unless you live in a state that bans them, the biggest problem with suppressor ownership in the U.S. is writing the $200 check to BATFE. The difficulty of the federal paperwork is overrated.

BTW, where in Sweden are you at. I was in Stockholm off and on with my now ex-wife (she's Swedish and lives in Stockholm). I also lived in Stavanger, Norway for a year and have good friends in Finland.
