Cylinder Problems

I recently had a snub nose revolver cylinder come out and I lost the spring before I could figure out why the cylinder fell out. I took it to the gun smith today and they wanted to send it to the factory and have me pay them to do it. I declined and deccided I don't want to send the gun to the factory at all because I know that they will charge me and my gun won't be back for months. I am going to bring it back tomorrow and see if the can get a new spring in it and find a way to put it back together. Do you think they will be able to do it? How much will it cost?
