CZ 2075 RAMI is my next pistol. There's an aluminum frame and polymer frame model "P", both weighing approximately the same with the same "feel."

Which should I get???

Thanks for the help!

I love how the aluminum feels. That and it seems to be built much more solidly.

I don't own either, but I wonder if the polymer absorbs recoil a bit better than the metal. Also, I'm a lefty, so I like the idea of ambidextrous safties, which I believe the polymer version has but the standard metal version does not. Just my $0.02.

A common dilema for some CZ fans. The P models is I believe only 2 ounces lighter than the alloy version.

Custom Grips-alloy.

The polymer grips are slightly thinner, too, I believe. I have a poly SS, and I love it. I think poly is ideal for CCW, as is a stainless slide. That said, I also like the feel of metal in my hand a lot, too. I love my CZ 75 BD. You really can't go wrong either way, but know that CZ got the texturing and everything just right with the polymer, IMO.

I finally got my hands on one here locally - tough to find. I didn't realize the safety could not be used hammer down or half cock. So it's cocked-and-locked, or else hammer down DA first shot, no safety.

Nothing wrong with that (not a criticizm of the pistol), but not what I thought...

I guess they figure the weight of the DA pull is its own safety.

Works fine for me, I carry it off safe and expect a DA pull for the first round. Several of my other carry guns are DAO such as my PF9, P11, etc. It's nice to know my follow on rounds will be a bit more accurate, hopefully.

I agree, it's a perfectly fine setup, and as safe as anything else out there, just not what I expected.

I got the alloy frame because it just looks so much better. I'm getting some nice checkered grip plates for it, for that classy look.

I paid a little to much for mine, but that's a long story, and irrelevant now that I have it.

PS: I can't shoot it as good as the G26, or the XD9 Sub, and I only shot a few mags out of each in those, but I think my gun still needs to break in, as it's new. I'm still happy with it though, and I'm glad I didn't get a Glock.

I just have to stop shooting my POA revolvers and start focusing on the Rami.

I owned the Rami-P briefly and didn't like the stock grip, not enough texture or stippling and the gun would move around a bit too much when your hand gets sweaty, which is almost all the time down here in southwest Florida. I wish I'd bought the standard Rami instead.
