I bought a CZ 452 AKM Standard in .22. I need to remove the barrel so I can remove the rear sight to facilitate mounting a scope. Anybody that is familiar with removing barrel on this model?? Thanks for any info.

A barrel clamp vise and action wrench, What did you think you'd bought a RUGER:neener:

Remove the sight to install a scope????? Why in the world would you have to do that? I've never had clearance issues on my scoped 452 trainers.

I always used medium Millet rings. If you position a 6x24x40 AO target BSA just right it'll clear the rear sight with only a few thousands to spare

Thanks, that's the way I'm gonna go. While it's just a .22 it has a fair looking stock with a Schnabel forend. The barrel's 24.5" as opposed to the 22.5" American. While maybe not as practical I like the European look.

A quick internet search yielded this link from Eric Brooke's website. Note that the link addresses the issue of removing the rear sight and the rear sight base (the latter being substantially more challenging).
