CZ 452 Scout or Remington Model 5 Youth

I am going to buy a .22LR for my daughter. I took her shooting with me last weekend and I believe I have created a monster...LOL So far out of everything that I have looked at I like the CZ 452 Scout and the Remington Model 5 Youth. They both have single shot adapters and 5 shot mags. A 10 shot mag is available with the CZ. Just curious what you all would choose between the two.

CZ Scout

I'd go for the CZ Scout.

I have a CZ452 Special/Trainer and I also have one of the Serbian made Charles Daly Superior II .22's. The Superior II was/is the same rifle as the Remy Model 5, just Charles Daly was the importer. Remington put a different stock on it & calls it the Model 5.
Both are nice rifles - but, I think you'll get more support from CZ.

CZ. They are reliable, accurate, have great out of the box triggers, feel like actual rifles, and are very refined. Even though they are Czech, they have a center in the U.S. and have a huge following in the U.S. There are plenty of aftermarket parts available for the CZ as well.

Don't have any experience with the Rem but do have a couple Scouts (the first one was destined to be a teaching aid for my nieces and nephews but was too pretty for that job and kept it for myself and bought another for the job). IMO, the Scout is an exceptional little rifle. On my (then) 8 yo nephew's first time out at the range, he had a couple 5 round groups under an inch at 25 yds (scoped). Not the best the gun can do as I've shot it before to zero it in and had done better but, IMO, a good show for the newbie. The bolt will be a little rough at first but will smooth out. The CZ guns are dry fire safe so you can do dry fire drills before shooting to to give the new shooter a good feel for the trigger without firing.

My 7 yo niece, however, didn't fair as well on her first time out as she's having the cross dominant eye problem at this time.

The CD/Rem 5 is not a bad rifle...especially for the price CDNN closed them out for...$149 with scope. That was a bargain. Similiar priced?!?..Not even close, get the CZ Scout. I did...twice.
