Shot about 100 rounds this weekend with the new CZ-452 Varmint 17HMR. Love the rifle, but the trigger is just too stiff for me for comfortable target shooting. I had considered buying one of the trigger kits, but read Mick's (The Fuzzy Limey) article on the CZ-452 (see: http://fuzzylimey.net/projects/452triggermods.html).

In less time than it took me to thoroughly clean the rifle for the first time using a Beeman Zip .117 pellet gun cleaning kit with Hoppe's solvent and Beeman MP5 Metalophylic oil (see: http://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/Beeman_Zip_Cleaning_Kit/611) -- which worked quite literally "like a hose", I also changed out the factory trigger spring for an Ace Hardware steel spring.

My Lyman trigger gauge now says the trigger pull averages 1.3 pounds and the trigger feels perfectly crisp to me. I suppose when I head out to the woods to hunt, I might reinstall the factory spring, or better, a spring with about 2.0 - 2.5 pounds of pull. But anyway, it was absolutely no problem at all to change out the factory spring and have, if not a "thought trigger", then certainly a much lighter trigger more likely to improve scores at 100 yards off a front rest. And it was certainly cheaper than the extra $100 for the single set trigger, which I would probably have purchased, except that I couldn't find one locally.
