CZ-52 original green-grey finish

I would like to chang the surface finish of my CZ-52.
On another forum, a member suggested using acetone to remove the original coating before proceeding with another treatment.

Has anybody ever carried out such an operation using acetone?

Is there a risk that I end up with certain areas clean and others with the coating only partially removed and impossible to complete?

The idea is to, in a second stage, polish-off marks and then blue it.

Thanks for your input.

First off that green-grey finish is probably some form of parkerizing: I've looked at a few CZ-52s and that what I've seen on them aside from the bluing.

Acetone will degrease it but will not remove it, if it is.
