Ok guys I'm new to this website but I have been lurking around gaining some useful info :). But I haven't seen anyone ask this question before. Now to the question, the CZ 527 has a fixed rear sight that is held in with a dovetail, pistol sights also are held in with dovetails... so can I put a pistol sight in the 527's dovetail? The reason would be I want to be able to see the sight at night and I can't with the standard sights, pistol night sights are readily available however.

If you can find one that fit the 527's unique mount. I had to have a local gunsmith make a mount with a silver soldered adjustable sight on it.

Spend the money on a good tactical LED flashlight.

You got to have light to see what you are shooting anyway, right?
Once the light is on the target, the CZ's black sights will be silhouetted on the target like a Boeing 747 in front of you!

I gayrontee it!

CZ 527 Rear Sight

Hello All,
I am new to this forum, but have followed many threads on different websites, trying to find a rear sight for my CZ 527 .223 carbine. Frustrated that I could not find an adjustable sight for this gun I bought a Marble's #69WH Windage Adjustable Folding Leaf Sight .460" Height from Midwayusa. I tapped the rear sight out right to left with 3/16 brass tubing. The Marble's sight slides in but is just a litter smaller than the dovetail cutout, I put JB weld on the sides and bottom of Marble's sight and bottom and under dovetail on barrel. I cleaned up the excess JB weld with alcohol followed with Remington oil and centered sight(make sure Marble's sight is centered) make sure you press down the sight and it is centered. I set up the rifle up right and let the JB weld dry. checked it the next day and it was in the dovetail groove tight. I took it to the range today and after sighting in the rifle, I must say I am happy with the results as you can see by the attached pictures, 50 yards open sight .223 UMC 55 gr FMJ. Some might think, why I didn't have the sight silver soldered or soft solder in? It was spur of the moment and I can always remove the sight and have it soldered later.
Joe

@ RCflyer
Where there is a will , there is a way.
I made the adjustable sight for Armoredmans 527 more than a year ago, kind of on a dare, since he couldnt find anyone who made or wanted to even try to make him a Low Cost Folding rear sight so he didnt have to take off the rear sight to mount a large scope.
When I made the pistol grip stock for him, I tried to talk him into a receiver sight, but he likes the folding sight just fine for now.
Maybe when he gets tired of the way the rifle is set up , he will change his mind.
But he is really good with the rifle the way it is, and hits consistantly at 100 yards on a 8" gong named Thugly.
His rifle is the CZ 527 Carbine in 7.62x39

Thanks ROAshooter,

I'll have to look into that peep sight, I appreciate the info. I'm going to take it to the range next week and try it at 100 yards. I like this rifle, mild recoil, shoots great and looks good. I wish CZ would make an adjustable sight for this rifle.
