I have a CZ 550 varmint on the way in the kevlar stock. I understand it has the 19mm dovetail on it. Anyone know if a base adaptor is available?

Thanks

Order rings from CZ-USA. From what I've heard, there is little else available for mounting optics.

I used the Leopold rings on my 550 Varmint. I like the trigger. It's a good shooter.

My one complaint with the CZs. You have to buy that expensive set of mounts from them. Just bite the bullet. I've had to buy two of the damn things.

Nope. As I said, Leopold has rings specifically for the BRNO/CZ. For the CZ 550 it is Leupold part# 54350 That is for Matte 1" rings... There are Leopold 30mm high mounts I found too. I'm considering putting a bit better scope on the .308 Varmint, which is currently on my .22-250, and getting a higher power scope for the .22-250.) Not necessarily cheap, but good and easy to find online. I have heard the CZ rings aren't that bad, just trusted the Leupold mounts. There may be other options for rings on a CZ medium, check on the CZ forum.

Hope this helps,

I found that Midwayusa had Warne rings for them so I ordered a set. I'm hoping that the mediums will be enough for the 50mm scope I ordered.

I think, unless they're taller than the Leopolds, it may not fit. The 44mm I have is about bottomed out. Midway might compare if you call. (and a post on CZforum may get you an answer.)

Did you get .22-250 or .308?

I have the 550 Varmint in 22-250. I used CZ rings and mounted a 8-32x44 Burris Signature Select. It is a great shooter. Infact it shot a 5 shot group at 200 today that you could cover with a nickle.

A load that seems to work great in this gun is:

53gr Sierra BTMK
33gr Reloader 10x
Federal 210M
Norma Brass
2.40" O.A.L.

This load was chronyed at 3750FPS and it's deadly accurate.

I got the 308, according to Warne the medium rings have about .435" of clearance. I tried to find dimensions on the scope I ordered but didn't have any luck. (Zeiss 4.5-14x50mm AO Conquest 1") I do know that the high rings have something like .535" of clearance.
Waffen, thats a great looking rifle, I love that stock. Hopefully my 308 will be a shooter too.

I put the Warne's on my 550 and they are outstanding. Very well made and they fir the dove tail cutout at the back of the receiver exactly. No room to move.

I think I paid about $40 for them, but it's been a couple of years so I could be off on that.

Good Luck!
