Anyone shoot a CZ 550 Varmint Kevlar? Opinions?

I'm thinking about getting a .308 bolt-gun and CZ is at the top of my list. The VK with the HS Precision stock looks like a winner.

There's a reason it's chambered in .308. The days of shooting varmints with poodle shooter calibers are over. :)

Mines a 22-250

I have one in 22-250, and it is very accurite with my reloads. It's not the smoothest, and the action is kind of long for this cartridge.

The stock is about an inch shorter than they list it. It's about 12.5" LOP.

they deff kick much butt, super accurate, with that single set trigger, is to die for. sub moa , with many diff types of milsurp for me, so far. Worth every penny. There is something to be said for the cz action, i have two of their other rifles, and usually i give the rear of the bolt a thumb push, as I work the handle, they all seem to be quite tight. Some guys get them , and out of the box say they are pretty smooth, I have not found that to be the case for me. But with a rifle that shoots this well, It is of no bother to me, really.

CZ makes an excellent rifle. Finish a bit rough, good triggers, very accurate barrels. The 550s are all built on a full length action so the bolt throw is a bit longer.

IMO McMillan makes a better stock than HS. Most people share that opinion so a Savage with the McMillan will run you about $200 more. Both the CZ and the Savage w/ McMillan have 26" barrels, the Savage with the HS comes with a 24".

You can't go wrong with any of them.

My shooting buddy got a 22-250 Kevlar last year. We had a few range sessions and made a prairie dog trip to South Dakota with it. It is a very accurate, well made rifle. The set trigger is pretty good but not as good as a Timney IMO. It's still great for a factory trigger. The only thing I didn't like about it was the removable magazine. Shooting prairie dogs it was much slower to reload than the other internal magazine guns. I like to have a bucket of rounds on the bench and just grab a handfull and stuff em in. When shooting prairie dogs it is a big disadvantage to have to take your eyes off the targets IMO. It's not a big deal I just didn't prefer that personally. They are excellent rifles overall.
