CZ 6.5x55 Swede

Well this is just a follow up on my 6.5 x 55 Swede after deer season. I took 5 animals with it. One buck, one doe, two hogs and a fox. All but the buck dropped where it was hit. The buck ran about 60 yards. This rifle performed as well as I could have ever hoped. It has became my go to deer rifle in one season! Now my nephew indicated he is interested in this caliber. Oh by the way the single set trigger worked fantastic on my buck. It sure does remove any chance of buck fever playing a role in the shot...or at least I think it did/does.

Can you tell us what you ended up settling on for your favorite load?

Just ordered powder for my son's Tikka swede this morning; couldn't decide so ordered both N160 and RL22. Can't wait to get some loaded once my Rockchucker arrrives.

If your interested deer hunter.. id develop a dummy round to see where exactly your maximum OAL is.. and drop your boys .15-.20 off the lands..

If your also interested picking up some Berger VLD hunting rounds companied with some 4350 powder those babies should clover at 100 yards..

As soon as I get back to the house...I am out of town on business...I will find it and will include it here. I still am not 100% satisfied with it because I was only able to get 1 inch groups with it but as far as hunting performance goes it was a great round. The farthest I took anything was 150 yards and generally where I hunt it will not often exceed 200 yards so this round works just fine for that distance.

Thanks, I hunt at a very good place and in fact took another hog this past weekend. I also took another buck during the season but did so with a different rifle.
