Hey everyone,

I'm hoping someone can help me out...

I have been wanting a CZ 75 Compact for a while. I have been looking for it at my local gun shops and ranges for a few months so that I can fondle it but no one is getting one in. Bud's has them but that means I would be buying blind. I'm ok with that in this instance because I don't have any doubts about the reliability of the CZ. What concerns me is the trigger reach.

Can someone take some measurements and post them?

Please measure from the backstrap to the face of the trigger both with the hammer down (DA) and cocked (SA).

Thanks!

The trigger guard & trigger are the same as a 75B - it's just shorter in
height if you can find a regular 75B or 75BD. I have a 75B and a
S&W 1911 - in DA mode with the Hammer properly at
the 'safety notch/half cock my trigger finger is nearly at
the same bend. the reach is less for SA than a 1911 due to
the less length / 9mm luger mag well

hope that helps I have long hands/fingers not beefy fwiw

3.083" Hammer down
2.855" Half cocked(with the take up slop removed)
2.815" Hammer cocked

Measurement taken at the center of the trigger curve, to the closest point on the back strap. This is the closest two pionts to measure.

Hope this helps:) Don't buy unless you hold one, as the DA reach is awefull.

I should add, the new aluminum framed compacts, with the new recurved trigger, helps a little on reach, but its very minor.

I never start in DA, but love the SA trigger. My 12yr old shoots it just fine.

Hammer down all the way is not recommended

Hammer to the safety nocch/half cock is correct safe way

what did you measure ?

what did you measure ?

My CZ has a manual safety, and SA would be the safe way to carry. But the OP wanted a hammer down measurement, so thats what I measured. Yeah, half cocked is a little better on reach;)

Thanks for the measurements JDGray, I appreciate you taking the time.

I asked for the hammer down and fully cocked to get the most extreme measurements. The 75 Compact has a manual thumb safety so I would carry it cocked and locked.

BlindJustice,
Thanks for the comparison to a 1911, that was very helpful.

I consider myself kinda 'average'. My CZ 75 Compact is a DA/SA and is as awkard as I can imagine a sidearm could be...in DA mode.

If you have hands like an NBA player, it might be just the ticket.

The full grown 75 and other flavors in SA or Decocker mode might work great, but, for me, the DA/SA 75 wasn't a decent choice.

SOrry JDGray mis-read your post - I'll save those numbers
the question comes up on forums. Good info.

I have long hand/fingers and played a little college ball,
but can't quite palm a basketball, almost though.... I have no problem
with the DA pull but putting it at half cock as it is correctly
operated is a good improvement on the LOP length of Pull

Use what works for you
