I bought a CZ p-01 last year. It is super accurate and very reliable. I decided I wanted the all steel CZ 75 Compact to go along with it and use at the range since they share the same magazines and grip the same. I use to see these everywhere even on sale quite a bit, now that I want one I can't find one anywhere. Gunbroker doesn't even have them. They are still on CZ's website. Anyone know why these are so hard to find right now?

A lot of that stuff is made in batches. I would say it is about time for some to be rolling in over the next few months.

Yes that's exactly right especially with cz. They make certain guns at specific times of the year, Or at least import them then. Last year you couldn't get a PCR or SP-01 for months, then they were all over. I figured that was solved and hesitated, a month later gone again. It's silly to have a product in demand, and not make enough units to take advantage.
Car companies do it and so do many others, they think it makes their item special, when all it does is cause people to get fed up waiting and buy something else.

Thanks for the replies. I am definitely going to hold out for a new one then. When they get scarce used ones are priced as high or higher than new ones. That is the same case with Hi Powers. Used (recent production) hi powers are 900-1000, and a couple of times a year Buds and other big dealers will have new ones for 850-900.

If you find you really can't wait, you may want to try a Tristar C-100 or T-100. These are CZ "clones" made by a Turkish company called Canik. I have both of these pistols and find they shoot as well as my P01. The C-100 is patterned after the compact and the T-100 after the Baby Desert Eagle. They are sold at Academy, I paid 329.00 for the C-100 and 349.00 for the T-100. I also have a couple of the full size clones. All of them have been great so far. Cajun Gun Works has a spring package to lighten the trigger pulls on the CZs and Caniks and I've installed the kit in my P01 and all my Caniks. I love 'em. And they share mags with the CZ compacts (At least mine do).

Thanks, the CZ grips I think are from the CZ Custom Shop and the Canik grips I got off Ebay. There are a number of sellers from Thailand with nice grips, really reasonable. The shipping takes a while, but it's worth the wait. Just search for CZ 75 grips.

The only problem with the Compact model is that it's not THAT much smaller than a full-size gun, and almost as heavy. The other CZ compacts are LIGHTER.

I want a Compact with an alloy frame -- I think you can get that through the CZ Custom Shop, now. (There have been a few come out of the CZ factory over the years, but they are rare. I'm not a big decocker fan.) I prefer cocked-and-locked.

It's not a CZ but the Canik or TriStar C-100 does have the alloy frame and that is why I bought it. I have the full size CZ75B and wanted not only a smaller but lighter version.

Another vote for the TriStar C100...

I also have the TriStar C100 but in 380 Auto. If I were to get a compact 9mm, I would go direct to the TriStar C100. I also agree the CZ75 isn't much larger than the compact model. Roughly 1 inch in length and less than 1/2 inch in height. The CZ75 magazine does fit into the C100 for more rounds at the range.

The C100 over the CZ75BD...

C100 with CZ75 magazine, shows the height difference...

I have both the cZ 75 Compact and the Tristar C100 and although I like the cZ a whole lot, the C100 feels the same and the weight differential is very noticeable at the end of the day.
